Racing the Oreo car at Daytona has become a tradition with the Earnhardt family. Dale Sr. started it in 2001, when he raced a special Oreo paint scheme in the Bud Shootout. Who knew it would be the last time he ever raced a special paint scheme? However, Dale Jr. carried on the torch, and began running the Oreo Monte Carlo's in the Busch series races. In 2004, Jr. ran this particular paint scheme. That year in the Busch series, he placed first four times.
